Robotics (Nanotec)
Tailored to the requirements of service robotics, Nanotec offers wheel drives with fieldbus interface as well as a modular drive platform for automated guided vehicle systems (AGVs) that are ideally suited for the prototyping of autonomous mobile systems.
All robotics components from Nanotec are designed for simple integration and can be freely expanded.
WHEEL DRIVES
The WD wheel drive consists of a wheel, integrated planetary gearbox and bearing in one short unit. Combining Nanotec’s wheel drives with our motors and controllers results in compact systems that simplify the development and production of self-propelled systems, such as service robots or AGVs.
- Space-saving design
- Withstands high radial loads
- Different wheel diameters available
- Can be combined with a wide range of motors as well as brakes and encoders
The wheel drives can be ordered with and without a mounting bracket. For series production Nanotec also offers press-on tires made from special composite materials.
The WD wheel drives are available in combination with motors in three different sizes: NEMA 23, NEMA 24 and 60mm.
MODULAR AGV DRIVE PLATFORM
The modular AGV drive platform NATHAN is a development and evaluation platform for prototyping automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The multi-axis system is highly flexible and can be expanded as required. The basis platform comprises the drive systems and a frame made of aluminum profiles and comes fully assembled. It can be expanded with a control center that consists of the EM5 controller with CAN master and a powerboard, support wheels and assembly panels.
For connecting the AGV drive platform to ROS (Robot Operating System), Nanotec provides the open-source softwre EMROS.
The EM5 controller is fully programmable and equipped with Ethernet and USB interfaces, among others. Together with a ROS node for inter-process communication that is freely available from Nanotec, the EM5 controller can be easily integrated into a ROS.
